Pour
We pour using 4000- or 4500-psi concrete from Cemstone, the largest ready-mix distributer in Minnesota.
We pour a typical slab as follows. First, we place the concrete into the area, either directly from the truck or using wheelbarrows. Next, we roughly level the surface with metal rakes, and more precisely with a screed board. We then use a wooden bull float and wooden hand floats to push the aggregate slightly below the surface. Next, we edge and groove the concrete as appropriate, and we close up the surface of the concrete, using magnesium floats. Finally, we broom the surface for a rough, outdoor finish; we use steel trowls to give a smooth, indoor finish; or we stamp the concrete for a stamped finish.
